They are finally coming! The cast of South Korea’s popular variety show “Running Man” is coming to the Philippines this year to bring laughter to their Filipino fans.
As the year 2019 came to a close, Pulp Live World posted Facebook and Twitter announcements on December 30 of Running Man’s coming to meet Filipino fans to celebrate their 10th year anniversary.
Running Man’s Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Haha, Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min also announced their tour stop in the Philippines via SBS NOW’s YouTube channel.
Running Man, whose first episode aired in 2010, is known for the cast member’s great chemistry together, crazy antics, and endless new challenges faced by its cast and guest celebrities. It is no doubt one of South Korea’s successful and popular variety shows.
The Philippines will be the first stop of the show’s anniversary tour this year. The monumental fan meeting will happen on February 9, 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Manila.
Fans expressed their excitement upon seeing PULP’s Facebook announcement, including Facebook user Kate Lyne Soleil StaRita who commented, “THE ULTIMATE EVENT OF THE YEAR, RUNNING MAN!!!💛💛💛”.
Another Facebook user, Regine Dumlao, expressed her gratitude by commenting, “SUPER THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THEM NEXT YEAR ❤️”.
Twitter user @Blockcyper replied to @PULPLiveWorld tweet “OMG!! This is a #CENNZ -ational performance for sure”
Running Man in the Philippines show tickets are priced from Php 2,000 to Php 10,500 and will be available starting January 19, 2020 via SM Tickets.
The Philippines has also been featured in Korean shows like the Battle Trip. The Philippines, especially Boracay Island, is a preferred destination for Koreans. In fact, the Department of Tourism has reported that South Koreans continue to be the top visitors of the Philippines.
Korean star Park Seo Joon was recently in the Philippines and has said he wants to come back.
The adoration is mutual as Filipinos welcomed the new program for visa-free entry to South Korea in 2020.
Philippine-Korean relations were celebrated in 2019 at the 1st Korea-Pinoy International Film Festival.
Filipino actor and filmmaker Nash Ang has been appearing in K-Dramas, including a cameo role on Song Joong Ki’s Arthdal Chronicles.
