Filipino-American dancer Bailey Muñoz is joining the upcoming third season of the hit Disney+ original series, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”
The hip-hop dancer and “So You Think You Can Dance” 2019 winner shared that he will be appearing in the show’s new season in an announcement posted on his official Instagram account.
Muñoz joins this season’s cast members which include three-time Grammy winner and fellow Fil-Am Olivia Rodrigo, who reprises her role as Nini Salazar-Roberts in the show.
“@highschoolmusicalseries SEASON 3!!!!⛺️ Left these 5 months extremely inspired & grateful. shoutout to these amazing super humans or aliens…cuz they are out of this world. Seriously. love yall,” Bailey Muñoz wrote on April 20, 2022, tagging series creator Tim Federle and other members of the show in the Instagram post.
Though Muñoz’s role in the series has yet to be revealed, fans expect him to play a character who will showcase dancing skills in the show.
Created and executive-produced by Tim Federle, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is inspired by the two-time Emmy Award-winning “High School Musical” franchise starring Hollywood actors Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.
The show’s third season is set at Camp Shallow Lake, a family-owned sleepaway camp in California, and will follow the Wildcats and their fellow campers as they stage a high-stakes production of “Frozen” and determine who is “best in snow.”
The third season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is expected to be released this 2022.
Filipina-Canadian dancer and singer Andree Camille ‘AC’ Bonifacio earlier starred in the fifth season of the Netflix teen drama series “Riverdale.”
