Renowned Filipino-American photojournalist Ruben Nepales has released a coffee table book that features photos of Hollywood stars he interviewed over the years.
Nepales announced on November 21, 2020, the release of “Through a Writer’s Lens” which he called his “pandemic baby”, a 260-page hardbound edition that showcases more than 200 Hollywood celebrities including Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Stewart, Fil-Am Darren Criss, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Pattinson, among many other towering American stars.
Nepales, an honoree of The Outstanding Filipinos in America (TOFA) 100, has been recognized for having a keen eye in capturing perfect moments and angles of celebrities which urged the book’s publisher to collaborate with him.
‘Variety’ editor, Tim Gray, even praised the Filipino talent saying, “Ruben Nepales is smart, has great taste, and observes things that most people overlook. These qualities make him a good photojournalist and they make this book so great.”
The Filipino talent, named as one of 75 most influential Filipinos in America, has managed to get never-before-seen candid shots of famous Hollywood stars along with a few quotes that give a peek at their real-life as celebrities.
