Filipino-American actress Leslie-Anne Huff is joining the supernatural drama hit series “The Vampire Diaries (TVD).”
Huff joins TVD stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley in a recurring role as the dangerous vampire hunter Rayna, a “fierce, driven, smart and confident – a deadly legend who literally cannot rest until her vengeance is complete.”
The Fil-Am actress was born to an American father of English descent and a Filipino mother. She grew up in San Fernando Valley.
Huff was very active in the Filipino community at the University of California, Berkeley where she co-produced the yearly Pilipino Cultural Night.
She also co-founded the non-profit “Kamay at Puso,” and appeared in a charity performance of “The Vagina Monologues” with Lea Salonga, Tia Carrere, and Tamlyn Tomita.
The new TVD vampire hunter was previously seen on the big screen on Cowgirls and Angels and its sequel, Dakota Summer. She starred in the first Disney Channel original web series “Mackenzie Falls.” Her career on television began with a role on CSI:NY, thereafter being seen on NCIS, Bones, Days of our Lives, The Suite Life on Deck, Greek, and Chuck.
Huff’s recurring role as Rayna begins in Episode 12 of TVD’s current 7th season on The CW, expected to be aired in late December or early January.
