Esang de Torres, The Voice Kids finalist is in Singapore playing the role Little Cosette in Les Miserables Singapore.
The talented, 9 year old, will be in the city state for two months as an alternate for the Les Mis role.
Esang played Little Cosette in the Manila production, which also starred Rachelle Ann Go as Fantine.
Les Miserables Manila opened on March 11 and Esang joined the production on April 8.
The Singapore production opened on May 31.
At a press conference, Rachelle commented on working with Esang and Esang’s performance during her run in Les Miserables Manila.
“Nakaka-proud na may isa pang Pinoy onstage, and she’s very caring and lovely. And first time ko makatrabaho si Esang,” Rachelle said.
(It makes me proud that there’s another Filipino onstage, and she’s very caring and lovely. And this is my first time working with Esang.)
“Lahat ng cast ng Les Mis na nandito – yung mga Australian at yung mga British – love na love siya because she’s so adorable and ang cute, cute. And [she’s] very professional, and I’m so happy that nakasama siya sa cast.”

Esang first grabbed everyone’s attention when she sang “Tomorrow” from Annie on It’s Showtime’s “Mini Me” segment and the Voice Kids Finals, she finished 3rd.
