Online marketplace Epalengke.com has partnered with the Liter of Light and Tabang Sa Dunong to provide a donation platform for the Light it Forward Challenge to bring solar lights to remote villages with little or no access to electricity.
Epalengke.com, an online portal that delivers fresh produce to Metro Manila, was specially developed for Filipinos as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The online market offers a wide variety of fresh produce and delivers straight to customers’ homes.
The Light it Forward Challenge asks an individual to make time – about 20 minutes – to build a solar light using the prepared assembly kit while documenting the process with a video recording. At the completion of the solar lamp, the person will issue a challenge to a friend to build another solar light.
Epalengke.com’s platform accepts donations for Light it Forward solar lamps that will be delivered to areas in the Albay town with little or no access to electricity.
Epalengke.com is open 7 days a week throughout the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila.
Each solar light costs 1670 pesos. As an incentive, Epalengke.com will give back 200 pesos to reduce charges incurred to collect and deliver.
