Filipino dancer-actress Ella Cruz and Sexbomb New Generation (SB NewGen) members Eunice Creus and Daphne Red shocked Korean pop Idol group BlackPink member Lisa Manoban with their performance in Indonesia.

The Filipino dancers performed in front of the BlackPink members at Korean company Samsung Galaxy’s phone event held Tuesday night (Wednesday morning Philippine time).

The dance team name was called Team Gabriela and represented Philippines in the dance competition of the event.

Ella Cruz and the SB NewGen dancers performed BlackPink’s hit songs and during their ‘Forever Young’ and ‘Kill This Love’ performance, BlackPink maknae (youngest member) Lisa couldn’t hide her shock. Jisoo was seen smiling and clapping while Rosé and Jennie were also seen smiling.

The Filipino dancers received the “Awesome Cover” award of the night for their performance choreographed by Macky Quiobe.

Ella Cruz was visibly excited when she accepted the award and when Jisoo shook hands with her.

The three Filipinas uploaded the highlight of their performance and Lisa’s reaction on their Instagram accounts.

Popular actress Anne Curtis commented on the performance saying, “You guys were awesome and killed it!!! Congratulations to you and your girls!”.

Other Blinks (fandom of Blackpink) who attended the event also uploaded the team’s performance on Twitter with praises for the Filipinas. Twitter user @blinkslove123 said “Ahhhhh proud Filipino here”.

Filipinos are known worldwide for their talent in entertainment, especially in singing and dancing. These twelve young Filipino dancers, including two former street kids, won awards and scholarships at the 6th Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition.

VPeepz, the Philippines’ dance crew, made waves at Hollywood’s World of Dance (WOD) during the Qualifiers which made judge Ne-Yo remark: “Your precision is literally dancing with one brain. Everybody doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. Top notch!” VPeepz was eventually declared winner of The Duels.

Koreans have expressed their adoration for Filipinos, in fact, Korean reality show “Laws of the Jungle” is set to film in Palawan this 2020 while Korean variety show “Running Man” will celebrate its 10th anniversary in the Philippines, also this year.
