Eddie Garcia and Quezon’s Game won the Gold Remi at the 2019 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.
Veteran actor Eddie Garcia won the Gold Remi Best Actor for Rainbow’s Sunset. Garcia essayed the role of an old man who decides to be outed as gay to care for his sick lover.
ABS-CBN Film Productions’ Quezon’s Game won two Gold Remis and a Special Jury award. The film tells the story of President Manuel L. Quezon’s brave and heroic efforts to provide shelter fkr Holocaust refugees.
Two independent films from the Philippines also received the Gold Remi.
