Direk Rene “Nonoy” Molina continues his Pinoy Tok chat series this time with Rachel Espejo Empig, a native-born Kiwi who decided to work in the Philippines.
Rachel was born in Taihape, a rural New Zealand town, to church worker parents who came from Ilocos and Manila before migrating.
Now living in Wellington, Rachel recalls visiting the Philippines and realizing the difference between her comfortable lifestyle in New Zealand and what her parents experienced.
Rachel decided to do development work in the Philippines and recommends others touch base with their Filipino roots by experiencing the same growth of love for the country and her heritage that she has passed on to her young children.
Watch the video chat at the end of this article to experience the PSTV5+ multicultural focus of the network with a Filipino flavor.
