CYPHER Learning has successfully hosted a meet-up between Filipino students, leaders from the academe, and business leaders to share insights, strategies, and real-world experiences that address the challenges faced by the Philippines in preparing its upcoming and current generations of professionals for the global digital economy.
The two-day event “Leadership Insights: Strategies for Up-skilling the Workforce and Preparing Students to be Work-ready in the Global Digital Economy”, held in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aimed to help participants better understand how to create successful e-learning programs that will increase students’ employment success rates and upskill the workforce.
Held in March 2023, the event discussions covered topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), skills development, gamification, and competency-based learning.
Different associations were present at the event such as the Junior Chamber International Manila, Analytics Association of the Philippines, Global Chamber Manila, IT and Business Process Association, Association of Las Piñas Private Schools, Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools of Business, and Industry-Academe Linkage, Alumni, and Placement Office.
CYPHER Learning CRO Matt Kane and RVP of APAC Yuri Rangel travelled to the Philippines to attend the event, further highlighting the company’s commitment to empowering Filipino students and professionals in the digital economy.
“The goal here is to ensure that the skills gap between Education and Industry is being closed,” explained CYPHER Learning. “We must understand the need to change – the digital economy rapidly evolves daily. Are our students ready to enter the real world? Are they confident enough to say, ‘I know what I want and can do it?’ Or does the current workforce have what it takes to compete globally?”
Keynote speakers, panellists, and partners ensured that the discussions were impactful and engaging, and the event also featured memorabilia, certificates, and prizes for attendees. The success of the event has led CYPHER Learning to plan another Leadership Insights event, which will be held virtually on July 27th.
