Two years after ChatGPT’s groundbreaking debut, the AI platform continues to revolutionize industries worldwide. On ChatGPT’s second anniversary in 2024, CYPHER Learning CEO and Founder Graham Glass shared insights about the transformative power of AI.
ChatGPT’s anniversary on November 30 inspired TechRound, a leading London-based platform for startups and tech news, to feature insights from industry leaders in its article, “Industry Leaders Comment on Biggest Lessons from ChatGPT’s Journey So Far,” including perspectives from Graham Glass.
Reflecting on ChatGPT’s rapid adoption, Glass noted:
“It’s been two years since ChatGPT burst into the public consciousness, putting AI in the hands of the masses. By making ChatGPT publicly available, OpenAI was able to gather momentum at a pace – gaining more downloads than any application that had come before. We have quickly moved on from people tinkering around asking ChatGPT to write them a poem to adopting GenAI as a copilot for our lives – and with intelligent agents the next big trend, AI’s role in our lives will become even more tightly embedded.”
Glass emphasized the inclusive potential of generative AI, stating:
“The computer era’s most powerful, highest-impact revolutions have been those almost anyone can access. As AI evolves to understand natural language, user intent, and human behaviour, a broader swath of humanity can tap its capabilities. The digital world grows more inclusive. Far from making digital divides worse, AI, as it progresses, has the potential to shrink them.”
AI’s rapid advancements have simplified access. Glass highlighted a shift from complex prompt designs to intuitive, user-friendly applications, eliminating barriers for more users to benefit from AI.
“Increasingly, generative AI delivers value as a well-controlled, intuitive, naturalistic element of a user-friendly application. The notion that using AI takes specialized skills will quickly fade,” he explained.
This progress is significant, as it paves the way for a more connected, equitable digital future. Glass believes that as AI embeds itself further into everyday tools, its accessibility and inclusivity will continue to expand.
