Celebrity couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo have donated essential supplies to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City and Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) in Manila.
The generous amount of medical supply boxes from the couple dedicated the gifts to the hospitals that contain boxes of face masks, face shields, hand soap, and alcohol to be used by the frontliners in the two medical institutions.
Mercado, who plays the character of Dr. Maxine in Descendants of the SUN (DOTS) PH, shared on her Facebook page on September 11, 2020, about the good deed along with a heartfelt letter to the medical staff in both hospitals who are risking their lives for the sake of others’ welfare.
The penned letter, which was shared by the medical staff of Amang Rodriguez and JRRMMC in their social media, was full of gratitude from the Kapuso actress.
“Thank you so much for all the work you’ve been doing. Words can’t express how thankful we all are for you. Without you, this war against COVID would have been over. We would have been defeated. You gave us a fighting chance. You saved so many lives. You are so tired and yet you continue,” wrote the Ultimate Star.
Mercado also lamented how the frontliners should be getting more support.
“You deserve so much better than what you are given. I am sorry for that. You are worth more than what is given to you,” added the DOTS lead actress.
In response to the generosity extended to them, a health worker of Amang Rodriguez wrote:
“On behalf of the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center staff, thank you so much! Ms. Jennylyn Mercado.”
JRRMMC staff Lexi De Leon shared on Twitter her gratitude to the DOTS star, saying:
“Our heartfelt gratitude to Jennylyn Mercado for extending her generous help to the frontliners of JRRMMC. Thank you for understanding our plight and for supporting us in our fight against COVID. Stay safe and God bless!”
Mercado responded to the appreciation of the medical staff and said, “Maraming salamat po sa inyong serbisyo! Kayo po ang inspirasyon ni Doc Maxine at naming lahat. Sama-sama ay palalampasan natin ang pagsubok na ito.”
(Thank you very much for your service! You are the inspiration of Doctor Maxine (her name in DOTS) and all of us. Together, we can surpass this trial.)
Other private sector initiatives to assist public hospital workers include SM’s donation of ICU-grade ventilators for COVID-19 and Toyota Vios units for transportation.
SEND WELL WISHES to Celebrity Couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo for giving out health supplies to public hospitals.
