Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will continue to inspire millions of people even if her reign is over through her upcoming book titled “Conquering Your Universe”.
The Filipino-Australian beauty was in her element wearing a white suit embellished with T’nalak fabric when she officially signed a contract with ABS-CBN Books on December 12, less than 24 hours after she arrived in the country from the Miss Universe 2019 pageant held in the United States.
Catriona shared with the press that her anticipated book, which will be available early next year, will be about her stories of achievements and life lessons she learned in her quest to fulfill her dreams.
“It’s a collection of lessons that I’ve learned in the past couple of years that I feel really allowed me to achieve what I did,” Catriona shared. “Things that I’ve learned from a personal perspective. Things that I learned in regards to dealing or looking from others. And also about giving back.”
The 25-year-old advocate of children’s welfare added that the book she is writing will be for everyone.
“I wanted it to be relatable. It’s not just about pageantry. These lessons can be applied to anyone from whatever walk of life that they may be in.”
The 4th Filipina Miss Universe winner also teased that she will be pursuing music now that her one-year duty is over.
“I’ll be pursuing my love for music and hoping to bring you all some good music next year.
“I do want to pursue most as a priority is music and also being a spokesperson. And the book is definitely a part of that.”
Other Filipina Miss Universe winners also continue to give pride to the Philippines.
Gloria Diaz, the first Filipina Miss Universe who won the crown in 1969, recently starred in the Netflix hit series “Insatiable” as she marked the golden 50 year-anniversary of her winning the title.
Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran is a cultural worker. She now serves as the chairperson of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurztbach is a 2018 Walk of Fame inductee and became the first-ever Filipino to have a wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s Museum in Hong Kong.
