The Jose Rizal-inspired Youth Artwork Competition aimed at bringing a positive influence on the Philippines’ national culture has started accepting artwork submissions.
The “Kabataan Laban sa COVID 19 Pandemic” contest launched on the eve of the hero’s birth anniversary in June, announced on December 6, 2020, that it is now accepting entries from registered participants.
Spearheading the contest is Kilusang Kreatives, a youth group created by Tutupad Ka Patriots during the lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus disease.
Lead organizer Joey Mosqueda shares: “Through Kilusang Kreatives, we have gathered young people who are willing to peacefully impact the course of the Philippines through the example of Dr. Jose Rizal, an artist and poet himself.
“This means that the national hero’s inspiration is still alive throughout the centuries, actively inspiring the lives of young ones to believe in a better future for the country. Even if they are not the medical front liners of today, they are still pushing the boundaries by trying to inspire the mind to dream of a better national culture.”
