South Korean boyband BTS member Kim Tae-Hyung a.k.a. V has driven renewed interest in Filipino singer-songwriter Paolo Sandejas’ song, “Sorry”, after releasing his BTS Drive Vlog in the first episode of the new series for their BANGTAN TV YouTube channel.
BTS’ V was seen and heard jamming to the tune of Sandejas’ song while driving his car in the YouTube vlog uploaded over the weekend in time for the BTS fandom’s ARMY Day. The video has since recorded over 10 million views as of this writing.
Paolo Sandejas and his song trended on social media as netizens identified the song in V’s vlog as that of the Filipino musician.
“Sorry” is part of Paolo Sandejas’ Purple Afternoon EP released in 2020. YouTube viewers – both Filipino and international audiences – thanked V as they discovered and rediscovered the song after hearing it as part of the BTS superstar’s personal playlist.

Sandejas himself expressed amazement at the inclusion of his song in the international pop band member’s playlist and called it a “surreal experience”.
“The fact that one of the biggest artists in the world knows my name AND listens to my songs is insane to me! This is a surreal experience, and I have no words to express how honored I am that he enjoys a song I worked so hard on,” the Filipino musician explains.
On Twitter today, Sandejas sent out thanks to V and the BTS fandom for giving new meaning to his song about heartbreak.
“2 days later, it’s still sinking in. Not sure what I did to deserve any of this, but I only have V and the rest of ARMY to thank 🙂 thank you for giving new meaning to my heartbreak,” Sandejas tweeted.
The Universal Records Philippines artist Paolo Sandejas was the only Filipino chosen to perform at the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan last June 26.
BTS members have sent messages of hope to Filipinos amid the pandemic. The K-pop idol superstars had previously expressed amazement at the “Boy With Luv” song cover by Filipina artist, Ysabelle Cuevas
