(UPDATED 11:50am) Marcelito Pomoy is in the Finals of America’s Got Talent (AGT): Champions after being voted a top pick by the AGT Superfans.
The dual voiced-singer champion of Pilipinas Got Talent who sang Andrea Bocelli’s “Time to Say Goodbye” was announced today by AGT host Terry Crews as the third act picked by the AGT Superfans to advance into the finals of the talent show.
The 35-year-old Filipino singer from Surigao del Sur in the Philippines, known for his ability to sing in both tenor and soprano and switch instantly from one to the other, sang his way to the amazement of judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Alesha Dixon, and Howie Mandel who were united in saying his performance in today’s semifinals show was top notch.
“I believe that you have the best shot of winning this whole thing,” shared Howie Mandel.
“Absolutely brilliant song choice! It really enabled you to shine,” Alesha Dixon said.
“Marcelito, I’ve been waiting for you all day to come on to the stage. For me, you are my favorite,” declared Heidi Klum.
“There is no denying that you have a very unique, incredible special talent,” said the show’s creator, Simon Cowell who went on to challenge Pomoy to take a risk when he does get into the finals of the show.
“But I do believe that with a gift live you’ve got, you’ve got a massive career in front of you. You really, really do,” Cowell encouraged the Filipino singer.
Marcelito Pomoy was declared an AGT Champions finalist by the new voting system of the AGT Superfans that represent the 50 states of America.
Pomoy is one of the best 40 acts on the Got Talent franchise around the world that were flown to the U.S. for the show to compete against the best of the best.
In the preliminary show, Marcelito Pomoy stunned the judges and audience of the AGT stage with his unique solo performance of “The Prayer”, a duet by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, that sent him off to the semis with the Superfans votes.
Next week, Marcelito Pomoy will be one of the 6 acts competing against the 4 Golden Buzzer recipients for the ultimate title of America’s Got Talent World Champion.
