Filipino tennis sensation Alexandra “Alex” Eala has just earned her career-high spot in the Top 800 of the World Tennis Association (WTA) rankings for professional women players, jumping 140 notches.
The 15-year-old Eala from the Philippines now ranks 763rd in the WTA Rankings released February 22, 2021, zooming up from her 942nd spot as she entered the Top 1000 list just last February 1st.
Eala, the ITF World No. 3 Junior Tennis Player, is considered a rookie in professional circles after turning pro only in 2020 just before the coronavirus pandemic hit and stopped most tennis tournaments.
The reigning Australian Open Doubles Champion‘s career-high rank on the WTA that was established by tennis legend Billie Jean King for professional women players, comes after her successful campaign at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s World Tour where she earned her first professional title at the W15 Manacor in Spain and made it to four straight quarterfinals matches in as many tournaments of the 2021 season.
The tennis prodigy is the Philippines’ Globe Ambassador and trains as a scholar at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, Spain.
