Filipino TV host and columnist Boy Abunda achieved a new milestone in his career by being recognized as Southeast Asia’s Top TV Host for 2024 at the Top Asia: Top 10 Awards in Malaysia, underscoring his excellence in television hosting.
The country’s ‘King of Talk’ received recognition during the Top Asia Corporate Ball, organized by Top 10 of Asia Magazine, on December 3 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. He attended the ceremony to accept the prestigious award.
His team from Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, a TV show on GMA Network, congratulated him on his latest accolade.
“Our warmest congratulations to the King of Talk, Boy Abunda, for winning the ‘Southeast Asia Top TV Host Award for 2024’ at the Top Asia: Top 10 Awards last December 3! Your #FastTalkWithBoyAbunda family celebrates this achievement with immense pride!” his team shared on social media.

According to a report from PEP .ph, the veteran TV host dedicated his award to all his co-workers.
“You don’t get used to receiving awards. It’s always a new experience and I dedicate this sa lahat ng mga kasama ko sa aking trabaho sa GMA-7. This recognition belongs to our bosses in GMA-7, the men and women behind Fast Talk with Boy Abunda and My Mother, My Story,” Abunda said.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the celebrities who appeared on his shows and to all the viewers for their continued support.
“Sa lahat ng mga panauhin na patuloy na nagtitiwala ho sa amin at lahat ng ating mga kababayan na all these years supported all my talk shows, lalung-lalo na po yung aking mga talk show ngayon, maraming-maraming salamat. (To all the guests who have continued to trust us, and to all our fellow countrymen who, throughout the years, have supported all my talk shows, especially my current ones, I am deeply grateful.) Thank you, Lord,” the TV host concluded.
Filipino TV personalities have received recognition as the best in Asia in recent years.
In January 2024, multi-awarded broadcast journalist Rico Hizon won the Best News Presenter or Anchor award at the 28th Asian Television Awards in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
In 2020, actor Martin del Rosario took home the Best Leading Male Performance trophy at the Asian Television Awards held in Manila.
