The Philippines’ golf champion Bianca Pagdanganan inches closer to her very first professional title as she leads the Anvaya Cove Ladies International going into the final round of 18 holes today in Morong, Bataan.
Pagdanganan is on top of the leaderboard after Round 2, passing challengers Pakin Kawinpakorn of Thailand and Ya-Chun Chang of Taiwan in the season opener event of the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) that wraps up today, February 24, 2023.
The Filipina Olympian fired a 67 in Round 2 to take a commanding lead after 36 holes at the Anvaya Cove Golf Club on Thursday, February 23, wresting the top spot from Round 1 leader PK Kongkraphan of Thailand.

“I’m pretty satisfied with how I played today. I got my goals – hit the fairways and greens. It’s important to keep the ball in play and I’m pretty sure I got it done for (the) most part,” Pagdanganan said in the post-match LPGT interview.
“I made few errors but I kind of bounced back in the last four holes. It’s really important to stay patient out there with a lot of conditions – the winds and heat. It’s hard to stay in the moment,” the SEA Games champion added.
A victory today would give Pagdanganan the first pro title of her career as the Philippines’ representative to various international golf tournaments, including the US LPGA.
Other Filipino players advanced to the final round although out of contention for the championship title: Harmie Constantino (#22), Daniella Uy (#26), Chanelle Avaricio (#32).
