Now you can be a gamer-tourist in the new free virtual tour of the Philippines offered for free all Sundays of December 2020.
The tourism experience is presented as the online mystery tour “Where in the Philippines is Sam San Mateo?” offered by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in partnership with escape room specialist, Mystery Manila.
The gamified virtual tour gives players 60 to 90 minutes to find the fictional travel vlogger Sam San Mateo by finding clues in the country’s famous landmarks and travel destinations.
Players can seek out actual live tour guides, participate in events, and make choices that result in making their virtual tour experience more unique.
“This virtual tour offers a fun and safe way to discover the beauty and charm of the Philippines’ 7,641 islands: the historic cities, enchanting sunsets, picture-perfect beaches with crystal clear waters, or extraordinary mountain views all from the comfort of their computers,” said the DOT as it announced the new tour on December 3.
The online mystery tour is open to all players who will register through this link: https://forms.gle/ZEs6potqSLf47BJY9.
Game tours via Zoom are held every Sunday of December starting on December 6 with the game scheduled at 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
The DOT had earlier opened a Virtual Tour of Manila’s Intramuros and presented Philippine islands tourism videos that travelers can enjoy from the comfort and safety of their homes.
