Pet welfare advocacy in the Ayala Malls has been expanded to include pet care and adoption.
Ayala Malls is collaborating with PAWSsion Project Foundation Inc. in the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abused and neglected dogs.
Ayala Corporation President Fernando Zobel de Ayala and sisters Sofia Zobel-Elizalde and Monica Zobel de Ayala contributed cash donations that significantly supported the building of PAWSsion Project’s animal shelter within a newly-acquired 6,000 square meter land in Bacolod City.
Furthering the collaboration, Ayala Malls Capitol Central hosted PAWSsion Project’s ‘Paws for a Cause’ which mobilized a pet supply donation drive for stray dogs.
Ayala Malls Vertis North also kept the passion going as the Quezon City location facilitated the PAWSsion Summer Camp.
The program encouraged patrons to adopt stray cats and dogs, giving them the chance to find their forever home and experience the love and care they deserve from a fur parent.
It also sheds light on the importance of spaying, neutering, and vaccinating pets by providing said services for free.
The services were offered in partnership with De La Salle Araneta University, Rep. Ronnie Ong and AP Partylist, Ang Animal Ko Protektado, and Volunteer Vets.
“Thank you to the Zobel de Ayalas for being a part of our advocacy. Thank you for opening your malls to strays and being one with me in this fight for the voiceless,” shared PAWSsion Project founder Malou Perez.
Ayala Malls is a second home for patrons and their beloved pets. Considered key members of the Ayala Malls community, cats and dogs can enjoy safe services and comfortable spaces, so they bond with beloved fur-parents and fellow fur-friends without a fuss.
Even amidst the pandemic, Ayala Malls continued its mission to offer amazing experiences by relaunching its official dog park called “Barkyard.” The facility has been hosting programs such as Central Bloc’s “It’s a Pawty,” Alabang Town Center’s “Adopt a Friend,” and Ayala Malls Manila Bay’s “Adopt a Pound Dog Project.”
Soon to come, Bonifacio High Street is also launching a new pet event with an adoption program called “Pet Huddle” from May 21 to 22.
A good reason to Pawty!
Pooches and felines gathered to pawty at Ayala Malls Central Bloc! Led by Dr. Vern Agriam, the Chief Veterinarian of the Department of Agriculture, “It’s a Pawty” featured a pet adoption activity, free anti-rabies vaccination, free Pet ID registration, and a pet supplies corner, where fur-parents could get freebies and special deals from Central Bloc’s merchant partners. Furbabies also had the opportunity to get pampered via the Mobile Pet Grooming Service provided by Clean Paws PH. Alternately, Dog Trainer Cebu held an introductory obedience training workshop for pups. Finally, the event culminated with the Mera Back to Back All Breed Fun Match Dog Shows launch.
It’s a match in the South!
Meanwhile, in the south of the metro, Alabang Town Center hosted Adopt a Friend, a pet adoption activity aimed at finding forever homes for the furry residents of the Muntinlupa Animal Pound. The event was organized with the support of the Muntinlupa Office of the City Veterinarian, JCI Alabang, JCI Jersey City, and Rotary Club of Paranaque Midtown. By the end of Adopt a Friend activity, all of the dogs and the lone cat up for adoption could find their forever families through this effort!
Pawsome Paranaque!
Ayala Malls Manila Bay held the “Adopt a Pound Dog Project,” which allowed furry pals to enjoy pawsome treats and find their furever homes. A pet screening booth was set up for potential pet parents who sought the perfect pooch to add to their family. Meanwhile, free anti-rabies vaccinations were administered to pets of Parañaque City residents. Additionally, Canvas Charcoal Pawtraits are exhibited for visitors to view and bring home.
Ayala Malls is currently expanding its pet care and adoption initiatives. Patrons can expect more from the lifestyle mall in the upcoming months.
