“A big THANK YOU to the most amazing fans in the universe” went the caption on a Facebook video seen Friday as Marvel’s newest blockbuster film, Avengers: Endgame, sent their Filipino fans a special message on social media, praising their biggest supporters in Southeast Asia.
The Marvel video went live on Facebook on April 27 with Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr., Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner, Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson, and directors Anthony and Joe Russo, to send a shoutout to the Philippines.
The 3rd installment of the film series which featured the country’s heritage site, Banaue Rice Terraces in the 2018 edition, Avengers: Infinity War, made a great box office showing in the Philippines and around the world, crossing the $1 billion mark previously held by the Inifinity edition.
The 30-second Facebook video started off with Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. saying, “To our fans in the Philippines who have been deemed the biggest fans in Southeast Asia, from the bottom of my arc reactor heart, thank you for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown to the MCU over the past 10 years. We got you whatever it takes!”
“You are the biggest fans. You guys rock. I’m so excited. I know you’re so excited. Let’s be excited together,” added Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye.
“Sending my photon blast-filled love to you and all as we journey into endgame,” says Brie Larson who played Captain Marvel in the film.
Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo thanked Pinoys who support the Marvel Cinematic Universe films saying, “Fans of the MCU in the Philippines, we wanna thank you!”
