Filipino-American Audra Mari is the new Miss World America.
The 22-year –old model from North Dakota beat 27 other finalists for the opportunity to win the title of Miss World 2016 during the pageant to be held in Washington, D.C. in December.
Mari’s beauty titles prior to winning Miss World America include Miss North Dakota USA and Miss Dakota Teen USA.
The Public Relations and Communications graduate from North Dakota State University was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota by her Caucasian mother and Filipino father.
The Fil-Am beauty queen is described by the pageant organizers as “passionate about her humanitarian work and advocates for the Irie Foundation, an organization whose mission is to empower at risk youth to lead productive lives through cultural experiences, educational initiatives mentorship programs, and scholarship opportunities.”
Miss World America is the national qualifier for Miss World, the oldest international pageant in existence and one of the most publicized competitions on the planet.
