Philippine television’s “Atom Araullo Specials: Munting Bisig (Young Arms)“ documentary on child labor during the COVID-19 pandemic has won the Asia Contents Awards (ACA) for Best Asian Documentary.

The lone Filipino finalist in the 4th edition of the international awards given by the Asian Contents and Film Market during the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea, won against digital streaming competitors from India, Korea, and Japan.

The GMA Network show was announced the category winner on October 8, 2022, in ceremonies hosted by Korean celebrities Jung Hae-In and Kim Saeyeon, along with the digital human “Lily” who introduced the nominees and announced the winners at the BIFF Theater, Busan Cinema Center.

The BIFF Asia Contents Awards had previously recognized the Philippines’ ABS-CBN Network with the Lifetime Achievement award and Maja Salvador as its Best Actress winner.

Filipino Journalist Atom Araullo won 2 Gold Medals from the U.S. International Film & Video Festival for his documentary special “Philippine Seas” and “Silang Kinalimutan” from the news program, I-Witness. Araullo also led GMA Network’s wins from the New York Festivals with Araullo winning the Silver Award for the episode, “No Leftovers”.
