The application for inclusion in the Globe Future Makers (GFM) program is now open to innovation startups that are using technology to wield social good.
The GFM search is open to Philippine-based individuals, groups, or organizations which utilize technology such as device, platform, hardware, or software, to achieve wide-scale positive impact in its solutions to challenging social problems.
To be accepted, entries to the GFM 2019 need to:
- tackle United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG)
- must be beyond ideation and conceptual stage
- solution at work for at least 2 years
- with a functional product or service with actual users
Technology support from Globe Telecom and dedicated mentorship from industry leaders will be given as awards to the finalists of the GFM program.
The 2019 edition of the Globe Future Makers was launched in partnership with The Spark Project, a pioneer in local crowdfunding. The program started back in 2017 patterned after
the Future Makers Social Innovation Program of the Singtel Group of Companies within the Asia Pacific Region.
Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications said, “In promoting digital transformation, we want to encourage as many businesses as possible to use technology for social good.
Globe Future Makers offers a unique opportunity for our small enterprises using digital technology to scale up and test if their businesses are replicable in global markets,” Crisanto added.
