Actress-Philanthropist Angel Locsin has raised Php 1 million overnight with the fundraising campaign #UniTENTweStandPH Campaign to help set up additional tents for patients in overcrowded hospitals.
Angel Locsin, 2019 Forbes Asia Hero of Philanthropy, launched on March 25, 2020, the Go Get Funding campaign #UniTENTweStandPH with a target of Php 3 Million pesos in 20 days.
The crowdfunding campaign is listed under Locsin’s full real name, Angelica Colmenares.
The Go Get Funding Campaign reads:
To help stop the spread of the corona virus disease (COVID-19) and due to the overcrowding in public and private hospitals, we are launching a fund-raising campaign here in gogetfunding.com to help set up additional tents for patients.
The objective is to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatments while also prioritizing the safety of our health workers.
As of now, we are targeting to set up at least 2 tents (12×24 meters) in seven hospitals which recently requested for our help:
1. South City Hospital and Medical Center (Daang Hari, Bacoor City)
2. Las Piñas Doctors Hospital
3. Las Piñas City Medical Center
4. St. Frances Cabrini Hospital and Medical Center (Sto. Tomas, Batangas)
5. UniHealth Parañaque Hospital and Medical Center
6. Binakayan Hospital and Medical Center (Kawit, Cavite)
7. PNP Hospital
Each tent would cost around Php50,000 as per our experience when we set up tents at the Taguig Pateros District Hospital.
If this campaign will be a success, we are hoping to reach other hospitals in Luzon and eventually in other parts of the country.
I have avoided asking for financial donations but for now, it is best that we gather more resources and funding to be able to widen the reach, service and sustainability of this project. I would appreciate anything you can offer for this cause to help our fellow Filipinos survive this difficult time.
Thank you so much in advance.

Locsin just reported already having raised 1 million pesos within 24 hours and announced they will begin setting up the first batch of hospital tents tomorrow.
“If this continues, we’ll able to provide tents all over the country🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 hang in there,” posted Locsin on Instagram.
Netizens were quick to support Angel Locsin who played the role of Filipino superhero, Darna.
“So much love for you darna ❤️ ito na talaga ang mas kailangan naman ngayon since hindi na kaya sa ospital. May God Bless you Aming Anghel ❤️.” @bernforyo commented on Instagram.
“I take my hats off you our real life Darna. Thank you soooooo much sa napakalaking tulong mo sa bansa natin,” @wahpakelz posted.
Angel Locsin has been quietly helping disaster victims and needy families in the Philippines. In January 2020 when Taal Volcano erupted, Locsin quickly acted to help displaced families.
Filipino celebrities have been using their influence to assist affected sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans and followers answered Bela Padilla’s crowdfunding call for the street vendors of Metro Manila affected by the community quarantine to stop the spread of COVID-19 and showcased how the Filipino Bayanihan spirit truly shines in times of adversities.
Actress Maine Mendoza also once again put her social media influencer status to good use by raising funds to help workers affected by the Luzon-wide quarantine to stop the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
SEND CHEERS in the comments below to Angel Locsin for her initiative to help overcrowded hospitals by setting up additional tents for patients.
