American Idol Season 7 runner-up winner David Archuleta tweeted a shoutout to Filipino fans while singing Philippine R&B band South Border’s hit, “Rainbow”.
The American singer who became a star at 16 years old as he journeyed through the AI talent competition in 2008, posted a video clip of him singing the karaoke version of the Jay Durias-led South Border 2004 hit song.
Archuleta tweeted his video on September 21 writing, “Karaoke with the amigos and saw this song. Shoutout to South Border and to my Filipinos!”
The 30-year-old singer-songwriter has been to the Philippines many times for concerts, television acting, and song recordings including a studio version of Rainbow.
South Border is credited with numerous OPM hits including Rainbow, Kahit Kailan, Ikaw na Nga, and many more. Frontman Jay Durias continues to make music and has joined OPM artists advocating for clean elections in the advocacy song, Sana Naman Taumbayan.
