Filipino teen champion Alexandra “Alex” Eala brought pride to the Philippines as the Top 2 finisher at the 2019 World Super Junior Tennis Championships held in Osaka, Japan.
Alex Eala played excellent games on her way up to the finals match to go up against France’s Dianne Parry in the Girl’s Singles Finals of the 27th edition of the Osaka Mayor’s Cup held on October 20, 2019.
Prior to joining the Japan tourney, Alex Eala won her first championship at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors 18under Grade A Tournament on September 22 in South Africa.
The 14-year-old’s winning performance sent her to 26th place in the ITF Juniors World Ranking, her best showing on the list.
Earlier this year, Eala led the Philippines’ team to its first-ever Asia Oceania Championship title in Malaysia.
The tennis star started her year with back-to-back finals finishes after being declared Best Overseas Player of the Year 2018 by the Tennis Europe Awards.
