AlDub fans are trooping to social media to request for Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza to be the stars of GMA’s adaptation of the breakthrough Korean Drama hit, Descendants of the Sun.
The AlDub tandem, the most popular couple on social media which broke the all-time Guinness World Record for most tweeted hashtag, has been observed as the most requested to star in the upcoming remake of the Philippine broadcast network, the home studio of Alden Richards who took a spot in the 2018 GNP Top 10 Triumphs for bagging a Gold Camera Award for the docufilm “Alaala” and 2018 GNP Top 10 Filipino Positive Actions-ranking Maine Mendoza.
The 2016 war drama love story between a Korean Special Forces Captain Yoo Shi Jin played by Song Joong-ki and Haesung Hospital surgeon Doctor Kang Mo Yeon played by Song Hye-ko became popular all over the world and even brought the two stars to a real life relationship, eventually getting married in 2017.
The AlDub couple is one of the most popular love teams in the Philippines featured on television skits on the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga. Media reports about the possibility of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza starring in the Descendants of the Sun remake have surfaced following the GMA announcement of the production.
