Aladdin movie’s Filipina singer Morisette Amon is on another international gig where she will judge and co-host a new reality singing competition in Singapore called “Asian Dream” alongside multi-Grammy winner Michael Bolton.
Asia’s Phoenix will be the resident judge and mentor of six aspiring singers to bring out one Asian Dream which will premiere on August 6, 2020, on AXN Asia presented by Subaru.
Amon, a runner up winner of ABS-CBN’s The Voice PH, went on social media on August 1 to promote her newfound hosting career saying,
“hello, August ☄️@subaruasia presents: #AsianDream is premiering this month, on the 6th on @axnasia!!! another challenging opportunity putting on the mentor hat for this one, yet I’m personally so excited to share this journey with you all as I’ve been learning a lot from this experience too.”
Amon, who became even more famous for her powerful duet with British singer Jessie J, said that she spent an entire month in Singapore last year to tape all seven episodes of the new reality show.
“I was in Singapore for a whole month last year to tape the season, and I can guarantee this is something to look forward to,” said the 24-year old singer.
Over the course of seven episodes for the Asian Dream, the contestants from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines are mentored and coached by Bolton and Amon with other celebrity guest experts.
The young singer expressed her gratitude for being chosen as a resident judge in the competition and work together again with Bolton after their previous collaboration at “Bolt of Talent” three years ago.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the trust Mr. Michael Bolton, Subaru Asia and AXN Asia have given me to work with them again,” said Amon.
“What an honor to be co-hosting and now judging alongside Mr. Bolton in his search for talent here in Asia. I can definitely say we’re more comfortable now than the first time. We’re a lot more loose and open to each other,” added the singer.
The talented artist has performed in multiple international stages before and wowed the audience including Hollywood actor Will Smith for her rendition of Aladdin’s “A whole new world” with Daren Espanto when she was picked by Disney to sing the theme song of the live-action film version.
