Aicelle Santos once again made the country proud by winning silver at the ASEAN+3 Song Contest in Vietnam.
The world-class Filipino singer emerged in 2nd place among 22 professional singers from Southeast Asian countries, China, Japan, and Korea in the international tilt held on July 28.
Santos wowed the judges with her interpretation of Jungee Marcelo’s “Kapangyarihan ng Pag-ibig” during the final round of ASEAN+3 to take home the silver award. Malaysia’s Rosario Ninih Chamini Bianis won the grand prize in the singing contest organized by the Voice of Vietnam to mark the 52nd anniversary of ASEAN.
Aicelle Santos, a lead star in the restaging of the hit musical Miss Saigon in London, is currently seen on stage performing in PETA Theater’s 7th season run of “Rak of Aegis” and in musical numbers for television’s Studio 7 of GMA Network.
The musical theater actress also represented the Philippines at the Asian Culture Carnival held in Beijing, China in May.
