Filipino-American author Jason Tanamor (Vampires of Portlandia, Anonymous, I Heart Superhero Kid) has teamed up with Alive Shoes to launch the JT I, a high-top sneaker inspired by the colors and meaning of the Philippine flag. The shoe marks the debut of his brand, Filipino Inspired Footwear, created to expand global appreciation for Filipino heritage.
The JT I honors the vibrant colors of the national flag: yellow for freedom, unity, democracy, and sovereignty; white for liberty, equality, and fraternity; blue for peace, truth, and justice; and red for patriotism and valor.

Alive Shoes gave me an opportunity to express myself and my culture so it means a great deal to me to share the Philippines history.”
