The designated vending areas include:

  • Yulo Drive in Arevalo
  • Locsin Street between Molo Plaza and Kapehan in Molo
  • areas across the Civil Service Commission in Mandurriao
  • Socorro to F&C, excluding the stretch between Bank of Makati and Metrobank in City Proper
  • and the outer perimeter of Jaro Plaza from Jaro belfry to the plaza’s side entrance.

The Iloilo City PIO media release quoted Acting Mayor Jeffrey P. Ganzon sharing that the PHP500 permit fee would be waived for about 300 vendors. “For this year, it will be free to help the small vendors,” Ganzon said, adding a reminder for vendors to adhere to the city’s regulations.

Zellah Gil, Chief of the Special Services Division, emphasized that only the city’s collection fee is being waived. Vendors are still required to secure permits from the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO).

The permit requirements include:

  • Clearance from the barangay where sales will take place
  • Community tax certificate (cedula)
  • Valid ID
  • Special permit contract via the Special Services Division (SSD) of the Public Order and Safety Management Office (POSMO)
  • “No Smoking” signage from the Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force

We had a meeting with vendors to orient them on the dos and don’ts. They were given requirements to comply with, and permits will be issued by the BPLO,” Gil explained.

Additionally, the city reminds visitors to cemeteries, memorial parks, and similar venues of banned items and activities listed in Executive Order No. 138-A s. 2024. Prohibited items include alcohol, drones, sharp objects, loud sound devices, and gambling paraphernalia. Overnight stays are also not allowed. The ban will be enforced from 12:00 a.m. on October 29 until 11:59 p.m. on November 1, 2024.
