Labor Day in the Philippines will be marked this year with job fairs nationwide offering more than 200,000 work opportunities for Filipinos.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) revealed in a media presser ahead of May 1, 2024, that 95 job fair locations spanning the 17 regions will have 2,441 employers offering 204,818 vacancies.
The key roles in demand at this year’s job fairs include production workers, customer service representatives, cashiers, baggers, sales clerks, laborers, carpenters, painters, microfinance officers, financial advisers, service crew, cooks, waiters, truck drivers, nurses, property consultants, and tutors.
Job seekers are urged to come prepared with their application documents, including resumes or curriculum vitae, diplomas, transcripts of records, and certificates of employment for those previously employed.

These job fairs aim to combat the country’s unemployment rate, which dropped to 3.5 percent in February, leaving 1.8 million Filipino workers jobless.
DOLE assures the public that at least one job fair will open per province, ensuring accessibility to employment opportunities and affordable products on the day.
