World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao’s movie production to raise awareness about Asian hate crimes has been scheduled for release in United States theaters.

In a media release received by Good News Pilipinas, 21st Century’s Greatest Boxer Manny Pacquiao said, “I hope this movie will encourage and Inspire a lot of people, not only In America but all over the world. I hope it encourages people to spread love Instead of hate.”
San Diego-based independent filmmaker and actor Chris Soriano wrote, directed, produced, and acted in the movie about an Asian American boxer (Zeus) challenged by a middleweight champion of the world with the aim of punishing him in the ring for being Asian. The champion had lost his mother to COVID-19 – the pandemic that triggered more Asian hate crimes around the world.
In the story, Zeus (Chris Soriano) encounters neighborhood boxing legend Coach Green (Miguel Matos) who decides to take Zeus under his wing and teach him fighting tactics through the dangerous streets of Los Angeles.
Soriano revealed he began filming during the pandemic and incorporated real hate crimes that happened to Asian Americans in his film. Soriano said he “felt the need to tell this story in the hope it will shine the light on how the country could deal with racism toward minorities”.
Almighty Zeus will be released in theaters in the following locations:
