Davao City’s youth football team was hailed U15 champions in the JSSL Singapore International 7s, Asia’s largest youth tournament.
The Philippines’ Davao Aguilas Football Club (DAFC) won the Under-15 years old category championship round over Australia and New Zealand’s Anza Socceroos with a score of 1-0 in extension time, during the youth tournament concluded on September 4, 2022.
Team Philippines outshined competitors in their event at Asia’s premier youth football competition staged as the JSSL Professional Academy 7 where over 450 teams from 17 nations participate.
The Davao Aguilas was the only Filipino team in the age group. The team was undefeated and never conceded a goal to its 11 opponents.

Despite playing against bigger, taller, and stronger opponents, the Filipino U15 team managed to counterattack the many attempts of the Aussie-New Zealanders.
The thrilling moment during the overtime was a defense by Team Captain Andres Dumlao and JM Visitacion. The team’s leading scorer Karl Molina sealed the victory with a goal.

The Philippine champions celebrated their victory over a team dinner at the Carnivore Brazillian Churazcarria restaurant.
DAFC will next compete in the Bakuna Cup on September 17th and the Youth Football League on September 24th, which will be both held at the Alabang Country Club in the Philippines.
Another Filipino Youth team was recently hailed champions at an International competition, the Muaythai Athletes who won 7 gold medals in Malaysia.
