Pinoy pop supergroup SB19 continues to reign supreme on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart for six non-consecutive weeks, matching the record set by Korean-pop BTS for the most time spent at No. 1 on the chart for the most talked-about songs on Twitter.
The Filipino boy band previously made history after the hit single “Bazinga” zoomed to the top of the charts on December 7, replacing BTS’s “Butter” which ranked at number one for six weeks.
SB19’s “Bazinga” ceded the top spot to BTS’ “Butter” on December 18 before leading the charts again and reclaiming the No. 1 rank for five consecutive weeks starting on December 25.
SB19’s “Bazinga” has held on and remains strong at No. 1 on the latest charts released for the week of January 22, 2022.
“Bazinga” holds at No. 1 with 4.2 million Twitter mentions in the Jan. 7-14 tracking week. It has continued its momentum since the premiere of its official video in October, followed by the group’s performance of the song at the 34th Awit Awards in November,” Billboard reports.
Since the track’s official music video premiered in October last year, the P-Pop pioneers’ music video for “Bazinga,” a song from their Pagsibol EP, has achieved 3,995,077 views as of this writing.
The P-pop band composed of five members Pablo (formerly Sejun), Josh, Stell, Justin, and Felip (formerly Ken) recorded new milestones last year by being nominated for the Best Southeast Asian Act in the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) and becoming the first Filipino act to be in the finals of the Billboard Music Awards.
