Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (DLSU), and San Carlos College are conducting health researches with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD).
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena in his August 13 report on DOSTv provided the following updates on ongoing health-related projects that the Council is supporting:
Researchers from the Ateneo de Manila University have printed eight out of the targeted 10 cough sensor prototypes and performed antibacterial testing on the material.
The research team from De La Salle University is currently testing its photoluminescent metals against various bacteria to determine its efficacy in detecting the bacteria. The team is also coordinating with Hokkaido University for possible collaboration on the project.
The project team from San Carlos College has completed schematics for the prototypes of the thermal scanner helmet and secured feedback, comments and suggestions on the device.
DOST is also working on 13 new human development industries projects to help students cope with remote learning.
DOST has also reported that 12 technologies from CALABARZON and the NCR are ready for commercialization.
