Acclaimed toy designer Quiccs Maiquez is collaborating with Adidas and National Basketball Association (NBA) star James Harden for a shoe collection to be released on the Philippines’ Independence Day this June 12, 2021.
Adidas’ first Filipino creator Quiccs, known for his award-winning vinyl figures and fusing robot anime shows, posted a teaser of his latest collaboration with sportswear brand Adidas via Instagram on May 29.
In the Instagram post, Quiccs revealed that the Brooklyn Nets star debuted his Philippine flag-inspired pair of Adidas Harden Vol. 5 during their match-up against the Boston Celtics.
“06.12.21,” Quiccs hinted in the Instagram post.
According to the Filipino artist, TEQ63 Manila Killa appears on the shoe, as well as his name.
“TEQ63 Manila Killa” will be in every sole of our “Manila Heritage” shoe, my nod to our fans and collectors who have been very instrumental for making my collaboration with the @adidas brand possible in the first place. This one is for you guys,” Quiccs wrote in another Instagram post.
“MANILA HERITAGE” is dropping this Philippine Independence Day, June 12, 2021 on Adidas stores Nationwide and select countries around the world! Stay tuned for more announcements!” Quiccs added.
More details will be released when the “Manila Heritage” Adidas x Quiccs HARDEN Vol 5 drops nationwide and in select countries on June 12, 2021.
Quiccs’ first sneaker collaboration with Adidas features the NanoTEQ inspired by OG colorways of the iconic Adidas Superstar. He earlier represented the Philippines through the Manila-inspired shirts designed by him for the famous sportswear brand.
Secretlab recently teamed up with the Filipino designer for a special limited edition gaming chair.
