The Philippines’ Auro Chocolate has bagged two top awards from the prestigious Academy of Chocolate in London and this year’s International Chocolate Award World Finals.
The Davao-based chocolatier won the inaugural Shining Bright special award presented by the Academy of Chocolate to four producers who have demonstrated growth in fine chocolate. Auro was commended for scoring highly across a range of categories including drinking chocolate and among the entries of over 50 countries.
Auro Chocolate also took home the Silver Award for their Regalo – Single Varietal 50% Dark Milk Chocolate in the International Chocolate Award World Finals, competing against the winners of the regional competitions around the world.
The Filipino premium bean-to-bar company was named one of the international award winners in a virtual ceremony hosted by the United Kingdom-based organization on May 5, 2021.
Auro Chocolate shared its latest accolades via Instagram.
“TWO NEW INTERNATIONAL AWARDS! INCLUDING THE PRESTIGIOUS ACADEMY OF CHOCOLATE SHINING BRIGHT AWARD!” Auro Chocolate wrote.
“What a true honor to represent our Philippines. Thank you all for your tremendous support! And AoC and ICA for these incredible awards. We will continue to do our best and keep getting better!” Auro Chocolate added.
Auro Chocolate scored highly across a range of categories in the Academy of Chocolate’s Special Awards, including drinking chocolate.
Launched in 2005, the Academy of Chocolate awards have gone from strength to strength mirroring the growth of the fine chocolate market.
The winners of the 2021 International Chocolate Awards were judged remotely by members of the Grand Jury and international judges, including chefs, journalists, bloggers, and chocolate specialists from around the world.
Last year, Auro Chocolate bagged three gold accreditations from the Academy of Chocolate International Awards in London. Prior to that, the chocolate maker was also awarded five gold awards including “Best in Competition” and “Overall Winner” in the ICA Asia-Pacific competition held in Pingtung, Taiwan.
