Filipino basketball star Thirdy Ravena has been confirmed to continue his stint in Japan’s B. League after signing a contract extension with San-En NeoPhoenix.
The first Asian import to Japan’s Basketball League was announced on May 10, 2021, to be rejoining his team for the new season under a multi-year deal.
“Phoenix, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed Thirdy Ravena to a player contract for the 2021-22 season. Mr. Ravena is under contract for the 2020-21 season under Asian Player Quotas. This contract is for multiple years,” NeoPhoenix announced.
The Gilas Pilipinas national athlete had only seen action in 18 games during the recently concluded season after struggling with injuries and testing positive for Covid-19.
At the close of the season, NeoPhoenix tweeted a video message from Thirdy Ravena who expressed his gratitude to the ball club and the fans, and his hope that he will continue to play for his team.
“Thank you so much for all your support from the beginning to the end of the season in any situation! I’m looking forward to seeing you again!” said Ravena.
