Design company Canva is now offering free designs and printing services to Filipinos who are in need of signage for their community pantries.
Canva announced in a post written in the Filipino language that it has made the design templates readily available for pantry organizers who are giving aid to the needy amid the community quarantine imposed in Metro Manila and nearby areas due to rising cases of the novel coronavirus disease.
“Tuloy ang tulungan. Maraming salamat po sa mga sumusuporta at nagtataguyod ng mga community pantries. Saludo po kami sa inyo!” Canva wrote in a Facebook post on April 21, 2021.
The organization provided step-by-step instructions as well as links to two different design templates from which organizers can choose from in the Facebook post.
Both templates already come with words that are staples in every community pantry’s signage, including rice, vegetables, instant noodles, bread, and canned goods.
Canva also added social distancing reminders to help residents and community pantry organizers avoid COVID-19.
“Sa mga nangangailangan ng tulong upang makapagsimula ng kanilang #CommunityPantry, may inihanda kaming mga signages na pwede ninyong magamit,” Canva adds.

Community pantries continue to expand across the country after University of the Philippines (UP) alumna Ana Patricia Non initiated the “Maginhawa Community Pantry” to help feed hungry passersby in Quezon City.
Canva has also launched a content collection of fonts, elements, and templates that are uniquely Filipino.
Canva’s Fil-Aussie co-founder Melanie Perkins has been named the youngest among the 117 billionaires in Australia and was honored in Forbes Asia’s 25 women leaders list.
