Filipina celebrity-visual artist Solenn Heussaff is celebrating her love for the Philippines in her new art exhibit fittingly titled, “Kundiman”.
The Filipina-French artist announced that her 3rd exhibit will be free and open to the public from March 26 to April 24, 2021, at the Modeka Art Gallery in Pasong Tamo, Makati City.
“Kundiman”, the Tagalog term for serenade, is the result of three years of work on acrylic paintings and rug designs.
“This exhibit expresses my love, appreciation, and hope for our country and our people,” said Solenn.
Heussaff’s first solo exhibit was called “Our People” and her second showcase was a collaboration between her and nephew Kaeden titled, “Kalsada”.
Ahead of her exhibit, Solenn Heusaff opened her Solenn Art Portfolio on Instagram, revealing the art pieces.
In a post on March 4, the artist shares that “all my paintings are about the people we see. Not the rich or the poor but people for who they are… my hope that I could lend my voice and my art to show the reality of Filipinos. This is the heart and inspiration of all my paintings, both old and new.”
“I really hoped to honor our people by being truthful about the kind of life a lot of Filipinos live today and to show that Filipinos deserve better,” she added.
Solenn Heussaff designs swimwear made of recycled plastic to benefit Palawan.
Her artworks have been showcased at the 15th Palm Beach Jewelry, Art, & Antique Show in Miami.
