Filipino actor Richard Faulkerson Jr., popularly known as Alden Richards, spread positive vibes on TV and online this New Year when he decided to donate his “Bawal Judgmental” prize to a cancer-stricken fan.
The GMA Network prized star celebrated his birthday on January 2, 2021, as the celebrity player for the “Bawal Judgmental” segment of noontime show Eat Bulaga where he is a regular host.
The award-winning actor eventually won Php 45,000 and announced that he would donate it to a fan who has cancer.
“Bossing, puwede pong mag-request?” Alden asked Eat Bulaga veteran host Vic Sotto. “’Yong nakuha ko pong pera dito, ido-donate ko po sana doon po sa isa kong fan na Aldenatics, si Elani Roldan na cancer patient po.”
The health safety ambassador then explained the situation of Roldan who is battling lung and bone cancer.
“Ang nangyari po kasi, mayroon po siyang breast cancer pero gumaling po eventually,” the 29-year-old Kapuso actor said. “And then nito lang pong huli, a few months ago, bumalik po ulit ‘yung cancer niya. Ngayon naman po, nasa lungs naman tsaka sa bone. Doon ko na lang po ibibigay ‘yung premyo.”
Last November, Alden used his online game streaming earnings to benefit the families affected by the typhoons that struck the Philippines during the last quarter of 2020.
The actor also gave away cash gifts and gadgets for student-viewers to aid them in their online schooling amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
