Two young Filipina gymnasts have conquered the Santa’s Cup in Budapest, Hungary.
National teammates Daniela dela Pisa and Breanna Labadan from the Philippines were both victorious in the international competition held on December 5, 2020, together bringing home a total of five medals for the Filipino gymnastics community.
Seventeen-year-old Daniela “Dadai” Reggie dela Pisa from Cebu claimed two gold medals for the Hoops and Clubs categories, the same events she won in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Fourteen-year-old gymnast prodigy Breanna Labadan successfully bagged one gold after topping the Balls event and won two silver medals finishing second for the ribbon and all-around events.
The unstoppable rhythmic gymnastics duo flew to Budapest in August to pursue training with renowned gymnast and coach Dora Vass.
Prior to the prestigious Santa’s Cup competition, dela Pisa and Labadan already bagged the individual all-around titles in senior’s and junior’s division during the Magic Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Meet in Hungary.
The two earlier took home five gold medals for the Philippines from their 3-country European campaign as the Philippine National Women’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Team.
Another Filipino gymnast, Olympian Carlos Yulo, recently bagged two bronzes as he finished eighth place overall in the 74th All-Japan Gymnastics Championships in his second tournament of the season.
