James De Los Santos has won another gold, this time from the biggest virtual kata – the SportData eTournament World Series.
The Filipino karateka picked up his 24th gold medal on November 28, 2020, against his opponent from Switzerland, further widening his lead as the No. 1 player in the eKata World Rankings, as the SportData tourney awards nearly 4 times ranking points.
On his way to the finals of the 5th edition of the SportData World Series tourney, the Filipino champion athlete defeated Romania in the Round of 16, Germany in the Quarterfinals, and South Africa in the Semifinals.
The Philippines’ national karate player first took the Top 1 spot in the World eKata Ranking after winning 15 gold medals in seven months of weekly tournaments from April to October 2020, racking up 8,950 points to overtake Portugal’s Eduardo Garcia’s 8,575.
De Los Santos won 6 more golds after his historic feat and added 3 more:
- 24th Gold, 5th SportData eTournament World Series on November 28
- 23rd Gold, Golden League Karate eTournament #3 on November 24
- 22nd Gold, Athlete’s E-Tournament #2 on November 17
