The 15-year-old tennis sensation made her successful opening round bid at the Roland Garros court’s Girls Singles tournament on October 5, 2020 (Philippine Time), against Natalia Szabanin of Hungary.
The World No. 4-seeded Eala initially trailed in the first set before she picked up and eventually outplayed Szabanin, 6-4, 6-1, to emerge the winner.
The Filipina teen will next face Mara Guth of Germany for round 2 of the 2020 French Open.
Before coming to the French Open, Alex Eala ruled her 1st tennis competition amid the lockdown in Spain. Eala also notched a historic Grand Slam Doubles win with Indonesian tennis partner Priska Madelyn Nugroho at the 2020 Australian Open.
