Far Eastern University (FEU) High School’s Cholo Anonuevo is now in the United States to train under the Atlanta-based sports and entertainment management company, East West Private (EWP).
The 17-year-old forward of FEU’s Baby Tamaraw, who made an impressive performance in the UAAP 82 Boys Basketball Tournament, recorded an average of 9.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, to help his squad finish in third place in the tournament.
The young player’s versatility, size, athleticism, ball-handling, shooting, and energy impressed basketball analysts and UAAP fans.
Anonuevo, a 6’4″ player, is the third Filipino who signed under East West along with 7’2″ center player Kai Sotto who was recently welcomed by NBA G-League and 7’0″ player Sage Tolentino.
On Thursday, July 23, 2020, the powerful dunker from FEU was welcomed by East West Private in an Instagram post saying, “Welcome to East West Private @cholo.anonuevo ✈️ Tomorrow let the training begin! We are excited to help you reach your dreams!”
The Ireland-born-and-bred star player was part of the National Youth Team in Dublin.
Another athlete who recently brought pride to the country is Fil-Am pole vaulter Natalie Uy who broke the PH-SEA record during the U.S. Acadia tilt.
