Filipino actor Joseph Marco has received praise for his exceptional acting in the second season of the HBO Asia series, “The Bridge.”
The Viu-produced crime thriller premiered on June 15, 2020, with Marco as a new cast member. The ABSCBN “Wildflower” actor started filming in Kuala Lumpur in December 2019.
In his first international series, the actor brings to life the character of Christian Salvador, the head of an environmental non-profit organization, and the love interest of lead character Rebecca Lim.
According to Min Lim, executive producer of the hit series, Joseph has exceeded the expectations of the Malaysian producers who adored Marco’s adaptability to the cast and scenes.
In a virtual press conference hosted by Star Magic on June 17, Min said, “We really didn’t know what a Filipino actor would bring. We really had no expectations. But Joseph has blown all our expectations out of the water. He came in and he really brought something to the role, an edge that we never expected when we were writing the character.”
The chemistry between Joseph and Rebecca was also praised by the producer given the short amount of time they were introduced.
“I think they shot their first scene the day after they met for the first time, and he really, really delivered. I’m really grateful that we managed to get him on the show,” Min said.
HBO Asia is releasing The Bridge episodes every Monday at 9:00 pm.
Filipino artists and locally produced films and series are making their way to the international market.
Filipino actress Bianca Umali was chosen to be the new lead star of HBO Asia’s longest-running series, Halfworlds.
GMA Network’s TV series “The Gift” starring Alden Richards is set to air in Ecuador in South America.
SEND CONGRATULATIONS to Joseph Marco for showcasing his exceptional acting skills in The Bridge Season 2.
