Teen tennis champion Alex Eala has won her first professional match at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s Futures in Tunisia.
The reigning Australian Open juniors doubles champion turned professional this year and the 2020 Tunisia pro tournament is her first tourney as a pro.
Rafa Nadal Academy, where Eala is a scholar, announced the good news on their Facebook page. “Never too young‼️ At only 1️⃣4️⃣, #RNAPlayer Alex Eala wins her first career ITF MainDraw match in Tunisia! It was her debut in a tournament of this category! VAMOS! 🇵🇭 MABUHAY! 💪🏼”.
The 14-year-old Alex Eala played against Nadia Echeverria Alam of Venezuela and won by default, 1-6, 7-6, 3-2, in the ITF Main Draw match held March 5, 2020 (Philippine Time) in Monastir.
Alexandra “Alex” Eala surged to Top 4 Rank in the World Juniors Tennis Ranking in February 2020 after she and her Indonesian doubles partner Priska Nugroho won the 2020 Grand Slam title in Australia.
